The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced this week that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bentham. This character has the ability to change into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the source material and animated series.
The new cast member is joined by multiple new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to the screen, featuring chief the main antagonist, played by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the lineup as the ruler of the desert kingdom.
Even though this character is a major member of the organization, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Given season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the narrative framework.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. Besides their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is due to premiere for its season two on March 10, 2026.
