Space-Based Photographs Show Iran's Naval Forces and Atomic Sites Hit by American and Israeli Military Action.

Multiple US and Israeli airstrikes has according to analysis eliminated or harmed no fewer than 11 Iranian naval vessels starting the weekend, freshly analyzed aerial photos show, with launch facilities and atomic facilities also coming under fire.

Images of the southerly Konarak military port and the Bandar Abbas port facility, which sits on the strategic Hormuz Strait and contains the main command of the Iran's naval force, depict plumes of smoke rising from several vessels on the start of the week.

Maritime Forces Incurred Major Losses

Included in the ships sunk was the IRINS Makran, Iran's most sizable ship which had served as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Orbital photos displayed thick smoke pouring from the vessel which had been docked at the Bandar Abbas base.

Analytical evaluations state that at least a quintet of warships at the port were "struck or destroyed". Pictures of the southern end of the harbor reveal smoke emanating from the IRINS Makran, while another pair of vessels are visibly damaged, with one visibly ablaze.

At the Konarak base, images reveal multiple damaged vessels, with expert review pointing to strikes against a half-dozen warships. Images taken on Monday also demonstrate that a number of structures at the installation have been demolished.

"For many years the Iran's leadership has harassed commercial vessels," an American commander said. "Now, there is not one Iranian ship at sea in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz or Gulf of Oman, and we will continue."

Some vessels reportedly destroyed may have been obscured in satellite images by haze or plumes, or struck at sea, and have yet to be fully confirmed. Additional information suggested that an Iranian vessel was foundering off the coast of Sri Lanka's waters, prompting a search and rescue mission.

Missile Installations and Nuclear Facilities Hit

The destruction of Tehran's launch facilities and the prevention of enrichment activities were declared as further objectives of the military strikes. Satellite images also depicted strikes on the southerly Khorgu base and northwestern Tabriz missile bases, and at the Konarak air base, where missile storage facilities and fortifications were targeted.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e drone unmanned aircraft site west of Kermanshah, widespread destruction was identified to storage buildings, underground facilities and unmanned aircraft systems.

Destruction was also noted at a radar installation at the Zahedan airbase military airport in eastern Iran, close to the frontier with neighboring nations.

Perhaps most notably, the new round of strikes have apparently focused on sites at Natanz – long said to be at the center of the country's atomic program. A global monitoring agency commented that the affected buildings were used for entry to the facility's underground enrichment facility and that "no release of radioactive material" was anticipated.

Wider Impact and Assessment

Military analysts indicated that the strikes appeared to have "greatly reduced" the Iran's naval capability to sustain standard operations using its biggest warships. However, it was noted that Tehran still has the option to launch asymmetric warfare at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, midget subs and its so-called "clandestine network" of tankers.

The total scope of the destruction caused to Iran's defense infrastructure remains unclear, with strikes said to be continuing. Photos also shows considerable destruction to the headquarters of the Iran's Revolutionary Guards in the city of Tehran.

A significant number of civilian buildings also appear to have been damaged in the capital and across Iran after the hostilities began. Casualty figures from ground sources state that a high number of non-combatants may have been killed in the bombardment.

Amid continuing hostilities, analysis of space-based data will persist to track the evolving military landscape.
