Ex- Doctor Faces Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a ex- physician has been charged with committing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.

Details of the Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Offences

The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include:

• Fifteen counts of assault.
• 17 counts of penetrative assault.
• 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
• Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
• One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
