Cars in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers reported they were notified by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Police state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then found many other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials state early analysis show the fluid was likely human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are not yet aware of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the residents for details.

An important political figure stated the attack left him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine people by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in 2020.
